About
Welcome to the vibrant world of Marufuku Ramen, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of New York City at 92 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003. Specializing in authentic Hakata-style ramen, this restaurant has mastered the art of creating comforting, rich flavors that transport you straight to Japan with every slurp.
At Marufuku Ramen, the star of the menu is undoubtedly their Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen. This signature dish features a deeply flavored pork broth that is simmered to perfection. Accompanied by tender chashu pork—made from melt-in-your-mouth pork belly—and a beautifully seasoned soft boiled egg, this bowl is a true work of art. Topped with vibrant green onions, earthy kikurage mushrooms, and crisp bean sprouts, each bite is a delightful mix of textures and tastes that keeps you coming back for more.
My experience at Marufuku Ramen was nothing short of exceptional. The warm and inviting ambiance complements the hearty ramen, creating a cozy space to enjoy satisfying meals. Each dish resonates with authenticity, showcasing a deep respect for traditional Japanese cooking techniques. The attention to detail—from the broth’s flavor profile to the quality of the toppings—is evident and appreciated.
In a city bustling with dining options, Marufuku Ramen stands out not just for its rich culinary offerings but for the genuine passion embedded in every dish. Whether you're a seasoned ramen lover or trying it for the first time, this destination promises an unforgettable dining experience that draws you into the soothing embrace of Japanese cuisine.

“ it was a rainy, dark evening in new york, so ramen was definitely the vibe this day. i stumbled upon marufuku ramen, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. the ramen is really great. very flavorful broth, i literally almost finished that before the actual noodles and protein. i highly recommend getting the tori paitan ramen! it’s nice to have a break from tonkotsu ramen sometimes and the rich chicken flavor is amazing. highly recommend getting a beer or cocktail for your ramen too. also the karaage was great too! come check it out! ”
“ I’ve always been a loyal customer of Ichiran to the point that I didn’t want to venture out to other ramen places. However, I had an extra day in NYC and I already had Ichiran a couple of days before so I thought maybe it was time for me to try something new. Just an FYI, I don’t eat pork so I only judge ramen places based on their chicken-broth and/or vegan-broth ramen selections. I had a Spicy Tantan Men that has a chicken paitan broth with spicy ground chicken. IT WAS FIRE!!! The broth was rich and creamy. The chicken was seasoned really well. And it was spicy that I didn’t need to add extra chili oil or chili powder. It might seem small from the outside but they actually have a bigger space inside. Service was great and it didn’t take really long to wait for my food. It was really good that I might have a hard time deciding where to go next time I visit NYC: Marufuku or Ichiran. ”
“ We stumbled into here late afternoon after our intended kitchen had already closed for dinner prep, and boy were we glad that we did. This is a hidden gem (I was surprised to learn it is a franchise) that has it all - fantastic Japanese-styled service, attractive pricing, and solid ramen. We had the Spicy Tantan ramen which was delicious and the right amount of heat - very much present but not overwhelming. The broth was delicious and took them up on the additional order of noodles. Menu is simple and straightforward. Their gyoza had me reminiscing about my long overdue Trader Joe’s shopping trip, but at 3 for 6 pieces during happy hour, I wasn’t disappointed. The main dining was populated by a good number of families - both visiting and locals alike. The entrance had a wonderful bar that looks into the kitchen and feels like a perfect spot if you were looking to dine alone and many were. If you are looking for a salve for a colder night or winter day that won’t break the bank, this checks all the boxes. ”
“ SOO GOOD!! Our sever was amazing and it was super chill when we went. The ramen and all other food was super good and came out really fast. 10/10 recommend, a must try if you are in the area ”
“ I really enjoyed the ramen here—it's a reliable, satisfying bowl that comes absolutely loaded with toppings. I had the hakata tonkatsu dx bowl of ramen that features a light, flavorful broth with hints of pork and corn that feels comforting without being too heavy. I also tried the gyoza, which were just okay, but the super refreshing side salad made up for it. The sweet soy dressing was something I'd come back to have again. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a spot I’d happily return to. ”
“ Absolutely Delicious – A Plant-Based Delight! I recently had the pleasure of trying the vegetable ramen, and I was genuinely blown away. From the very first bite, it was clear that this dish was made with care, creativity, and incredibly fresh ingredients. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness – hard to believe it was completely plant-based! The noodles had just the right amount of chewiness, and the generous mix of seasonal vegetables added not only beautiful color but a variety of textures and tastes that kept each mouthful exciting. What really impressed me was how satisfying and comforting this ramen was without being heavy. It left me feeling nourished and energized rather than weighed down. Whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan, or simply someone who enjoys delicious food, this vegetable ramen is a must-try. Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be coming back for more! ”
“ Have come to this spot a couple of times and love the consistency here! Ramen should come out hot always!! Surprisingly not alot of Ramen spots uphold that, Marufuku does an amazing job with this! Love their peppers! Solid spot would recommend any ramen lover to try this place out!! ”
“ Stopped by Marufuku on 2nd Ave for an early dinner before a show in the East Village with a ramen-loving friend, and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, promptly acknowledged our reservation, and seated us warmly. The front of the restaurant looks small, but they guide you past the kitchen to a larger dining area in the back. I ordered the chicken paitan ramen from the seasonal menu, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and creamy, the chicken breast was moist and tender, and the chicken meatballs were a fantastic bonus. I also had a yuzu and peach soda, which paired perfectly. My friend ordered the same meal and loved it just as much. I can’t believe I hadn’t been here before, but I’ll definitely be back! ”
